Mark has spent many years serving as President and Director for various nonprofits that include Kiwanis, Boys and Girls Club, United Way, Junior Achievement, YMCA Board of Directors, Huntington University Foundation Board and his alma mater, Taylor University Alumni Board
Mark is a committed husband and proud father of 3 grown children. As Mark and his wife Cindy entered their empty nest stage, they took the opportunity to relocate to beautiful West Michigan, Cindy's childhood home. Cindy took a Kindergarten teaching position with the Jenison Public schools and Mark began his career with Schenkel Financial Services. The opportunity to serve is great as they follow GOD's calling to the growing and diverse area of Ottawa and Kent County MI. Mark sees this as an incredible opportunity to guide and assist the area families and small businesses with their financial futures. Maintaining a strong sense of community and solid professional foundation is important to Mark as he gets more involved in the community and his career. He stays on top of his field and develops his professional skills by regularly attending industry training and certification programs. He enjoys traveling to visit family and friends and enjoys the great outdoors of Michigan and vacationing to Sanibel Island, Florida.
